Segraves Removals Ltd

We used Segraves to move us from Devon to Essex. They priced to take two days with an overnight stay. It took one day, but no refund was made. This was the least of our worries. During the removal, our house was not protected in any way and they left gouges in our walls and damaged items in the process. They took someone else’s items out of their lorry to get ours in and left theirs in the rain for hours. They provided no covering to our items against the rain, including open drawers of photographs, even when we provided them with a rain cover for this purpose. When we collected our belongings, we found more than 6 boxes were crushed, one box and a ladder were completely missing, one bookcase was in shards (including triangular pieces of wood about 3”x 4”) and other items had bird poo on them. Subsequently belongings have showed the effects of damp, such as paint flaking and rust developing. We tried to collect an item during the period it was in storage and discovered their idea of listing items comprised the words ‘box’ repeated, so although we had clearly numbered each box, there was no way of identifying exactly which box was in which container. We also discovered heaps of heavy items on top of delicate items. Our payment to the removals firm had included a payment for insurance against damage, so there appeared to be no incentive to take care of our belongings. The insurance work started with a man turning up with a box of crayons to cover up damage to antique furniture. They also permanently damaged an antique radio during the repairs. We had to pay for the insurance excess and our letter asking for this to be refunded was ignored. Although we were told one of the people moving us had been sacked, we did not receive an apology or any reimbursement from this removals firm in any way. The whole experience was very distressing and we regret very much having used them.

GEMS Solutions

Waste disposal from Commercial Recycling Ltd I have used commercial recycling for waste disposal (Canford site) & waste collection (Skip & Grab bag). I found the staff very helpful and their recycling facilities were really good. I would have no issues recommending them for waste managment ..commercialrecycling.co.uk

DHF Builders - Home Extensions Nottingham

DHF builders were one of the local companies I recieved quotes from when cosidering modernising my kitchen & laying new flooring. I was happily surprised with the competitive quote from DHF and equally felt comfortable discussing my requests with the builders. The work began on the agreed date and the builders ensured mimimal disruption to my families lifestyle & homelife. Completion was again on time and I was advised and informed of all decisions and progress along the way. The quality of the kitchen is excellent and the finish is to a very high standard. Each area demonstrating superb craftsmanship. The solid wood flooring completed the new kitchen and we were so impressed that we continued the wood flooring throughout the downstairs of our home. DHF were only too happy to complete this for us. Finding local reliable builders is often difficult but with DHF, i'd be happy to use them again and recommend them.

I too have been burned by this so called 'Dr' Hays. I spoke with him in March 2011 about a defamamtion case and he informed me that I had a compelling case. I completed all necessary paper work and submitted back to them in June 2011. In september after receiving no further word from 'Dr' Hays I phoned and emailed and I have phoned every single week up to december 2011 with Thomas Hays simply ignoring me. I did get to speak with a receptionist named Germaine who told me that I had to complete the documentation again as they were now six months outdated. This I did again and sent to them in December 2011 and again I have been ringing 'Dr' Hays every week sometimes three and four times per day but although numerous messages have been left he just simply ignores me. Quite unprofessional if you ask me....Best to AVOID THIS SOLICITOR IF YOU WANT YOUR CASES DEALT WITH PROPERLY...
