I rang the company and expressed an interest in working for them. Their telephone was awful - it was as though they didn't really care whether I worked for them or not. An interview was scheduled, but when I tried to clarify the location, the Avocet rep obviously felt tha my questions were unnecessary and the info I had been given should be enough. When I rang back to cancel the scheduled interview, it was equally clear that she didn't have too much interest in that also. Why would I want to work for a company that shows such a 'don't care less' attitude at that crucial first point of contact? The answer of course, is that I wouldn't! From the client's point of view - I would imagine that morale within such a company might be quite low - staff turn over high, so they might wish to consider whether Avocet would be their right choice.
