    I was let down by Chesterton Carpets, who abandoned the job part-way through. They arrived to fit the floor without the proper adhesive, so couldn't complete it that day. They phoned me later that day and suggested I give them the keys so they could complete it when I was at work, saying they were completely trustworthy, but I'm uneasy about giving my keys to people as I live alone, so didn't agree. They didn't react well to this, and to hearing that I'd been frantically ringing round trying to find the adhesive, not because I didn't believe it was unavailable, or that they hadn't tried hard enough to find it, but because I was prepared to make *dozens* of phone calls if necessary as I wanted to get the floor finished. They became quite rude (I don't think they would have been as rude had I been a man, but that's just my impression), and we are now in dispute.
