  This is undoubtedly the best salon in Cambridge if you prefer something a little less clinical and condescending! I never miss a visit on my regular return trips to the UK - gutted to be missing out on the New Year Special offers :(

• Silly Cat!

  I can't believe Cat Young for two reasons! 1) I have been an on again - off again customer for two years and every time I went (with months in between appointments) the owner remembered me BY NAME and was completely welcoming! There is a huge and vastly comfortable waiting area with the nicest sofas and cushions! And the staff are very solicitous providing not just free tea and coffee and magazines if you wait, but Moroccan mint tea in custom decanters and glasses! Also it is the most relaxing atmosphere where you can sit and gossip with Sharon (the owner) and meet all the other customers there. Its a real community/local hangout and what is soooo missing today! Cat - you must have been somewhere else! 2) Cat Young is the name of a porn star.

• worst salon experience I'v ever had!

  I recently moved to Cambridge and have been looking for a good threading salon in the area. I found Secrets of Arabia on the internet and read all the good reviews about it so decided to go. The Secrets or Arabia website stated that they were open until 18.00 on the day that I visited. I arrived at the salon at 16.45 and when I entered the member of staff said that the lady I needed was in with a client and she would be free in 15mins. I thought that she would offer me a seat in the waiting area until they were ready but she just asked me to come back even though it was a very cold day and there are only a couple of newsagent shops nearby and nowhere else to go. So I waited outside for 15mins then returned. When I tried to open the door it was locked. There were a few people standing in the salon and they just looked at me and didnt come to the door. Eventualy a lady opened the door and just said "yes?" I exlained that another member of staff had told me to come back at this time. She then replied "no we are closing, I want to go home" and then closed the door! She didnt even offer me an appoinment for the next day or apologise. I was very shocked at how rude she was, I have never been treated like that in any other salon I have been to. I feel the staff are very unprofessional and did not make me feel welcome at all and I was quite upset when I left. Needless to say I haven't been back there and have found an excellent threading service for the same price elsewhere in Cambridge!

• Exceptional Client care

  On trying this salon, I was hooked and will never change. I love the atmosphere and the welcome everybody gets when entering the most atmospheric salon I have ever been to.
